Your sponsored child lives in the mountain community of Morideni, home to about 2,300 people - the very eastern part of Burkina Faso. The primary ethnic group is Gulmance, and the most commonly spoken languages are Gulmancema and French. Typical houses are constructed of cloth or carpet floors, mud walls and wooden roofs. The regional diet consists of beans, bread, cereal, chicken, maize, potatoes and rice.

Most adults in Morideni make their living by farming, raising livestock, doing day labor or selling items in the market. The average family income is equivalent to $21 per month. This community needs health services and encouragement for children to attend and complete high school.

Your sponsorship allows the staff of Hanbili Child Development Center to provide your sponsored child with Bible teaching, medical checkups, vaccinations, counseling and testing for HIV/AIDS, health kits, hygiene training, school fees, books, uniforms, music activities, soccer tournaments, birthday celebrations and community service activities. The center staff will also provide community engagement, HIV/AIDS awareness and child protection information for the parents or guardians of your sponsored child.
