Special Events at JKPC

Mark your calendars for upcoming
Adult Ed opportunities!

September Adult Ed classes (Sundays, 11 a.m. -12 p.m. following the service) will be centered around a "Month of Missions" theme. It will be about missions that our church supports in various ways and also about missions that members of our congregation are involved in personally.

Our first class on Sunday, September 3 featured Missionaries Bob and Kristi Rice who serve in South Sudan; on September 10 we heard from Sue & Tom Fox who volunteer with Rotoplast, International, medically correcting cleft lip and cleft plates on children; on September 17 we heard from Vicki Sigl and here volunteer work at SonRise Equestrian Foundation.

This Sunday, September 24, join us for a presentation from Harbor House Mission.  Harbor House is a
Christian community development organization in Oakland, California. Their mission is to provide a safe place for opportunities, resources, and relationships to be shared so that children, teens, and families may flourish.

Join our Discussion Group  – Beginning October 8

We’re excited to start this discussion group next month.
For six Sunday sessions, from October 8 to November 19,
we’ll meet for about an hour, from 11 a.m. – Noon
Childcare is available upon Request :)

Why Join the Group? Four quick reasons:

1. You will grow in your relationship with God as you talk about God and faith together.

2. You will be able to better apply your faith to real life. As you listen to others, you gain insight on applying the principles you learn.

3. You will develop deeper relationships with others in the group.

4. This is a great study and it is easy to participate. We will watch a video presentation by John Ortberg, a wonderful teacher and pastor. The series is entitled, “If You Want to Walk on Water, You've Got to Get Out of the Boat.”

So, I hope you will join us!  Blessings, Pastor Garrett and Pastor Don

“If You Want to Walk on Water,
You've Got to Get Out of the Boat”

You're one step away from the adventure of your life. John Ortberg  invites us to consider the incredible potential that awaits you outside your comfort zone. Out on the risky waters of faith, Jesus is waiting to meet you in ways that will change you forever, deepening your
character and your trust in God.

In this series, you will learn to:

• Recognize God's presence

· Discern between faith and foolishness

· Not only expect problems, but field them when they come

• Reorient your thoughts about failure and see it as an opportunity  to grow

• Wait on the Lord

• Connect more deeply with God
